wie "Rail Management" berichtet, stehen die Elektrifizierung der Midland Main Line und der Great Western in den Startlöchern.
Ist zwar noch nicht offiziell, aber Network Rail soll eine Vorankündigung vorbereiten.

In der heutigen Ausgabe gibt es zwei kleine Artikel, die hauptsächlich die zwei Strecken (mit Karten) beschreiben.
Midland Main Line: Bedford - Leicester - Derby - Sheffield (mit Abweig nach Nottingham)
Great Western Main Line: Maidenhead - Reading - Swindon - Bristol Parkway - Cardiff

Außerdem wird berichtet, dass der Gewinner des "Intercity Express Programme" (IEP) kurz vor der Bekanntgabe steht.
Hitachi wird wohl als Favorit gehandelt.

Geoff Hoon also announced that the Department is in advanced negotiations with National Express East Anglia to provide 120 new carriages for the Stansted Express service from London Liverpool Street to Stansted Airport. The preferred bidder for this order is Bombardier Transportation, who plan to build the multiple unit sets in Derby.
