Sorry Mac but I haven´t seen any photos of these kits. In the October BRM somebody has taken VDA kits without sides and roof and made the stanchions from brass just like BR did. I have a few photos of the real thing taken at the wagon repair shed at Warrington.Which area are you modelling? Dom
Hi Dom, for the area I thought of modeling single track lines inspired by Wales or Scotland but I'm not preassigned to these. I've seen pictures of OTAs in both areas, as well as the same Locos. For example, 37425 and others of this class used to be on the Far North Lines and the Kyle-Line as well as on the Cambrian Coast Line. Very appealing. Could be a small diorama with a siding for loading timber to the railway. And they would look good at the Isle of Skye Railway modules.
Someone on RMweb mentioned scratch building with TPM parts, too, but I haven't done any scratch build so far. On Paul Bartletts pictures and the ones from the UK Rolling stock site there are details I have no idea how to do them, for example the holders for the stanchions or the small things on the frame where they tied the ledge. However, the stanchions could be done from plasticard, I think.
BTW, I don't think BR did the stanchions from brass, thou.
